Primary Bedroom Reveal

I have been so excited to show this room all put together! We have Jordan has also been super excited to have this room put back together. Our bedroom was so very, very brown before. Literally from floor to ceiling we had varying shades of beige and zero personal touches. Even the little furniture I had purchased for the room (the nightstands and the mirror) were always supposed to be a temporary solution – pieces I didn’t dislike, but really only purchased them until I knew what I really wanted.

As a reminder, here is what our room looked like before :

Now, this room feels so much like me, which I think is exactly how a bedroom should feel. I wanted it to feel cozy and calm, but fresh and rejuvenating at the same time. All of the different elements from the fireplace to the beams to the bed to the floors really tie it all together in a nice little package that is everything I was hoping for!

I started by painted the walls Timeless by Clare Paint. This is such a beautiful color – I can’t believe that I haven’t seen more people using it! It is a soft, warm white but it doesn’t read yellow. It is everything but stark and cold – the perfect cozy white! I painted the ceiling to match and used the matching trim paint for the baseboards and door.

Then I built the fireplace. When I was trying to design this room, I couldn’t get it to make sense until I added the fireplace. It adds so much interest and offers an excellent focal point for the room. You can find the tutorial for the build here : part 1 & part 2.

I love the vaulted ceilings in here and they were practically screaming at me to give them beams! So give them beams I did. And can we just talk about this light fixture? As soon as I saw it, I knew it would go perfectly in here!

I don’t actually mind carpet in the bedroom, but this bedroom felt like it needed wood floors. These are actually LVP (vinyl) floors and they only took me a couple days to install.

I also reupholstered the headboard and built a faux bed frame to match, which was a great way to breathe new life into a piece that I’ve had for a few years now.

It took me ages to decide what to do with the bedding, but I’m super pleased with the result. Looks cute and is super soft & comfortable! All of the other finishing touches pulled the room together really well, too. I added plug in sconces beside the bed since our nightstand space is limited, installed new roman shades and drapes, added this beautiful rug, and decorated with plants and the biggest mirror I’ve ever seen.

Now that we’ve said bye-bye brown and hello coziness, I seriously never want to leave this room!

With love,
Mercedes ♥
