I have a lot of catching up to do over here – I’ve been busy with a few fun projects I will get around to writing posts on, but also super tired chasing around two toddlers as well as growing our third baby!

A little bit of backstory on my pregnancies : my first (Elliott) came almost two months early, so they began monitoring me closely during my second pregnancy (Theia). At 24 weeks with her, we learned that I have an incompetent cervix (basically my cervix starts thinning out and dilating way too early) so I was put on modified bedrest until I hit term. This time around I had a surgical procedure at 12 weeks to stitch my cervix closed.
Unfortunately, we recently learned that I am still dilating through my cervix – no more projects for me. Luckily, I only have two months to go so not too much longer! And it’ll give me time to catch up on blog posts.

We moved halfway through my pregnancy with Theia and not being able to do projects in our new house was frustrating, but it was also fun to sit back and dream about everything that I wanted to do. It was a fun bonding experience to strap Theia to my chest and put together her nursery and I’m looking forward to doing that with this baby as well, even though I was originally planning to get started on that sooner rather than later!
If you’re looking for a throwback to our Arkansas house, this was Elliott’s nursery!
Anyway, onto plans for this baby’s nursery!

I want to add some classic, delicate blue floral wallpaper wrapping the entire room. Something that will be really elegant but still fun for a little girl.

Wouldn’t a pink shiplap ceiling be so fun? I think I’ll tie in the pink color on the closet walls as well. And of course I’ll do a fun light fixture, but I’m not exactly sure what direction I want to go with that yet.

Theia’s white crib would actually work really well in this room and I could try to transition her out of it – she’s two – but she is so attached to it! So I think we will let her stay in it for as long as she wants and get a new one for this baby. I’m thinking gold would be so, so pretty.

This room has been Jordan’s office (he’s moving his office downstairs to the guest room so that we can all sleep on the same floor) and it has been great for that, but one of my biggest challenges with transitioning it into a nursery is the space. It is the smallest of our upstairs bedrooms. I’m thinking I will remove the closet door and put the dresser in there, but even the closet is small. I think we’re going to have to do some furniture shuffling once we gather everything to see what layout is best!

So there are my preliminary plans! I hopefully have a few more months to dream up little tweaks here and there, but I’m pretty confident that this will be the overall vibe. And maybe I’ll make it to term and can start hanging wallpaper before she gets here! You never know.
With love,
Mercedes 🖤
